Actually the diet regimen that they are marketing really doesn’t work. You will eventually be left out with nothing but a very unhealthy body.

These types of diets that most advertisers sell on TV, magazine, and even online are known as crash diets. It will at first bring forth great results but in the long run it will become a big problem that you will have to live with. Crash diets need to force you to cut down your calories up to 500 per day in order to have a large amount of weight loss. This is very unhealthy because you are restricting your body of what it really needs especially the important nutrients and vitamins. It is very important to have a regular intake of food which is rich in nutrients in order for your body to function properly. One good example is glucose which is the source of energy in your body. Your brain needs at least 400 calories per day in order to function, just imagine if you don’t have enough calories in your body. Also if there are fewer calories, the different parts of your body will tend compete against each other to utilize the limited amount of energy available. With this, your mental acuity and state of well being will suffer.

Imagine that you have only at least 600 calories to use in your body. Doing physical exercise would really be hard for you because you lack energy and even simple household chores would be a pain. You won’t be able to do anything but lie down and feel weak because of the restriction of food intake that crash diets require.

Crash diets have this illusion of giving you a quick weight loss. Actually, the weight that you lost during your first week is the water in your body. Since crash diets restrict your food intake you would also be taking less salt. As we all know, salt absorbs water and if there is less salt in the body, the water tends to be excreted since there is nothing to hold it in.

In crash diets, you won’t be able to lose fats or burn fats. This is true!

When you eat below 1,200 calories of food, your metabolism will tend to slow down. When you are doing this, your mind will then interpret this and will make your body store or conserve energy. This also means that you won’t be able to burn those fats since your body prohibits you to do so because it has store the energy. This is basically the reason why crash diets won’t work.

Crash diets won’t work. They could be able to help you lose a few pounds quickly but when you back to your old eating habit, you will gain all the weight back. The best way to lose weight is by doing physical exercise and having a well balanced diet. Weight loss is a process you must undertake step by step. There is no magical way through it and crash diets are just mere illusions that will trick you into harming your own body.
